[realtek-bug] "umount /" fails when rtl8139 is used

i am using rtl8139 for a SMC 1211TX card on mandrake 6.1.

at shutdown time, "umount /" fails and a fsck is being forced at restart 
time.

the driver is being loaded into the kernel as a pluggable module using the

alias eth0 rtl8139

directive in /etc/conf.modules.


this happens without fail everytime and if i take out rtl8139 from 
/etc/conf.modules, the problem disappears.
