I have a Pentium 90 system with two Intel EtherExpress 100B ethernet
adapters. I use the system as a router. Regularly, I get the following
error messages (once a second or so) on the console:

eth1: Transmit timed out: status 7048  0000 at 2476/2491 command 000ch000
eth1: Trying to restart the transmitter...

After that, this interface is dead. This also happens for the eth0 device.

Now, I guess you want relevant system information.

I'll start with the kernel version: 2.0.36
The eepro100.c driver version is: v1.08 5/3/99
Initially, I was using the v0.99B 4/7/98 version which had the same
problem.

What else is there to say: I'll give you the output of the eepro-diag
program while both cards are in ok state:

eepro-diag -a -v -e -f -m
