media type.

I am suspecting that my ethernet card may either not have detected
the media type of my lan correctly, or is set to 10 mbit only... It is an
Intel EtherExpress 10/100: The dmesg output looks like:

eepro100.c:v0.99B 4/7/98 Donald Becker
eth0: OEM i82557/i82558 10/100 Ethernet at 0x1100, 00:60:94:51:2C:FD, IRQ
Board assembly 673611-001, Physical connectors present: RJ45
Primary interface chip i82555 PHY #1.
  General self-test: passed.
  Serial sub-system self-test: passed.
  Internal registers self-test: passed.
  ROM checksum self-test: passed (0x49caa8d6).
  Receiver lock-up workaround activated.
eepro100.c:v0.99B 4/7/98 Donald Becker

When I do a 'ifconfig eth0 media type' I get:

[root@orion mrtg]# ifconfig eth0 media type
Unknown media type.

How can I verify that the ethernet card is in 100mbit mode? My snmp
variables for the interface also report 10mit. I only get around 1MB/s
transfers... but no larger.

Any info would be great, but do not wish to waste anyone's time. :)
