so many problems with eepro100.o

I've tried just about everything with my intel etherexrpress pro, still I get network unreachable, unable to connect to host, etc etc etc.

I'm using slackware 4.0.0 (linux kernel 2.2.3)

Are there any known problems with this configuration and my ethernet card?
