Firstly:  thank you for your feedback - this is exactly what I need.
No, I don't know OpenHPC at all ... I'm quite new to this.
I want diskless booting - that's a must, and Kestral seemed to fit the requirements.

Let us know please what you are trying to achieve. Are you specifically trying to build a Debian cluster?    Have you looked at OpenHPC?
