Re. Bare metal, Openstack has facilities fir booting on bare metal. I
recently heard a great talk on this by an HP guy at the Openstack London
meetup.

This is a very very good discussion.
It really deserves something like a virtual round table or seminar meeting.
Some very good points are being made in these emails.
