If you set up a working external bridge for the Phi then it looks like
you can put the NFS mount for the filesystem anywhere.
Whilst I've got an external bridge set up I've not yet managed to
persuade a Phi to DHCP yet (no requests received by the DHCP server),
but I'm not an expert in bridge configuration..
