This looks interesting from the point of view of clusters in a cloud
computing environment.
Then again, your application is going to see much greater latencies if
half your virtual machines get shifted to another data centre! (Having
said that, AFAIK Amazon has an option where you can specify all the
machins you rent are spatially together).
