A good comment, Chris.

The important metric is job turnaround time - ie. the total time
between a scientist/engineer finishing preparation of a data set plus
parameters, and the final pictures arriving back on the persons
workstation.
I think those lessons were learned a long time ago in the mainframe
era, and maybe they are now being relearned.
