[Beowulf] tools for cluster event logging?

How about an SNMP trap, and have a specific cluster MIB?
I know this idea sounds daft, but SNMP is well known and all the packages
are readily available.
Just blue skying really.

At one time, six years ago, Ithought of using Beep for messages like this:
