[Beowulf] Beowulf, Gentoo and Navier Stokes solvers

Hi Brian, Andrew and Joe,
Thanks very much for all the info. I'll be sure to follow them up and drop
in more questions when I hit a hurdle.
I'd picked gentoo because I'm already familiar with it - I have been using
it as my sole OS at home for about 18 months, at work where ever possible
and found it immensly customizable.
Thanks again and I look forward to asking more focused questions in future.
