The usual:

and seek out the chapters on Amdahl's law and parallel scaling.
It may not be exactly what you are looking for (if you are looking for
specific programs or speedup anecdotes) but it will help you understand
how programs are organized to benefit from parallelization (and WHEN
they CAN be so organized, as many cannot).
