He said API, not protocol.
Perhaps the protocol would be the interesting part, in order to achieve
interoperability, but it's also the harder part IMO.
As another skeptic I'd say that I can believe in a standard API but they will
be selling snow-cones in hell before the majority of environments out there
support a common wire protocol.
