This looks like a name mangling problem. See if there are any references in the ifc to underscores and how it handles name
mangling. I suspect that your mpich was compiled using g77, which might add a different number of underscores (probably 2?) in the
lib files.
Hope this helps - sorry - I do not have access to ifc.
