Help on cluster hang problem...

Well I've seen once or twice on my Linux  desktop, it starts out with the keyboard and mouse not working.
Then when I press the power botton, the keyboard resets (led's flash) and then nothing...

But I doubt it is a hardware problem 'cause then it should have happend more often (?)
