When people say this, often - when asked about particulars - they
expound on the, uhhh, non-virtues of FORTRAN 66.  For the benefit of
this mailing list I'd like to emphasize that since those good ol' days,
three more Fortran Standards have been produced (and are actively
tracked in most compilers):  Fortran 77, Fortran 90 and Fortran 95.
