It is nice to have a batch-queueing system installed
for your cluster.

You should get Sun Grid Engine (SGE) or OpenPBS.

SGE: www.sun.com/gridware
PBS: www.openpbs.com

Both are free. The venders offer free support (web
page and mailing lists), but you can pay for email and
7x24 telephone support.

Currently, SGE is only available for Linux and
Solaris. (Other OSes are ready but Sun doesn't want to
release them yet) Early next week, Sun will annonce
the open source plan at the O'Reilly Open Souce
Convention.

OpenPBS offers the source code, and it supports over
10 different OSes. You can get the commerical version
if you want, call PBSPro. If you do not want to pay
but require more features, you can checkout the
Patches/Utilities/Extensions available at:

http://www-unix.mcs.anl.gov/openpbs/

One of them is the web interface, which can help your
users to use the cluster.
