Channel bonding performance problem UPDATED

Have you tested channel bonding between two nodes connected through
cross-over cables first? I suggest to make sure that that works and then
throw in the switches.

I am using 3c905B cards without any problems for channel bonding.
On my machines (RH6.2, 2.2.19 and RH7.1, 2.4.5) this works basically
out of the box, i.e., after setting up ifcfg-bond0, ifcfg-eth0, ifcfg-eth1,
etc.
