                               Call for Papers

The 7th annual Symposium on OSCAR and HPC Cluster Systems (OSCAR ’09) will
be held June 14-17, 2009 in conjunction with the International Symposium on
High Performance Computing Systems and Applications (HPCS). The conference
is being held in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

We are very excited to say that this year's symposium is more closely
aligned with HPCS. The scope of the symposium has again been extended to
more generally include topics from all areas of high performance computing
(HPC) clusters, with the focus being "Systems and management". This
includes the tools and techniques as well as experiences. We also
encourage authors to provide critical analysis of emerging topics in
clustering, to include heterogeneous or hybrid systems, reconfigurable
systems, virtualized systems, and all topics related to their use and
management. This may include high-level descriptions or low-level
capabilities -- the software and hardware aspects of HPC clusters.

Topics of Interest:
-------------------

Authors are encouraged to submit papers on topics relating to, but not
limited to, the following:

   * Cluster management issues, particularly those at large scale
   * HPC cluster software and/or hardware case studies
   * Heterogeneous/hybrid cluster management
   * Cluster tools/infrastructure
   * Build and configuration management techniques/tools
   * Administration policy/practice (experiences)
   * Cluster management software surveys
   * System failure analysis
   * System resilience
   * Emerging hardware/systems
   * Diskless systems
   * Cluster and system virtualization
   * System software testing and validation

Submission Guidelines:
----------------------

All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings.
Abstracts and papers should be submitted to the HPCS'09 conference
submission page at: http://www.hpcs2009.org/. See the HPCS'09 conference
webpages for details on abstract and paper specifications and page lengths.

Important Dates: ----------------

     Abstract and/or full paper deadline: February 16, 2009
                 Acceptance notification:       March  6, 2009
                        Final manuscript:          May 1, 2009
