Hello to all,
Since there was no list dedicated to my card I hope this list is
closest to it .
I am rather new to networking and therefore I have to describe the
problem rather detailed, therefore sorry for the length.
I have following configuration:
SuSE 6.4 kernel 2.2.14
Two boxes linked by a crossed TP cable with following cards:
1. DLink DFE 530 TX with via-rhine module
2. 3Com 3c515 mit Standard kernel module
When using the wrong OS on the system with the 3Com everything is
fine and I can ping from both ends. However, when using Linux it
does not work. I made following configuration/get follwowing
messages:
---boot messages---

I am not so familiar with networking and corresponding hardware and
this is the result of the last 3 days I searched the web for info
concerning the 3c515.
After all I have following questions:
Anything strange in the config/messages?
Is it possible that the problem is base on the Dlink using 100Mbit
and the 3Com just uses 10Mbit (however, the options line of the
modules.conf should force the 3Com to use 100Mbit, shouldn´t it?)?
Where can I continue (if you think in a store please let me know;) -
I vistited http://www.scyld.com/, deja, SuSE (of course) and some
mailing list archives, without success :( -?
Finally I would like to thank all of you who took the time to read
all this stuff and sorry for length and bad English. Looking forward
to receive some comments. TIA
