[vortex] build errors

Hello

I'm trying to install drivers for a couple of 905B cards I bought.

I did:
rpm -i ftp://ftp.scyld.com/pub/network/netdrivers-3.1-1.src.rpm
OK
cd /usr/src/RPM
OK
rpm -bb SPECS/netdrivers.specs

I get the following right after the gcc... command is executed.

pci-skeleton.c:140:parse error before string constant

So I thought I'd go back to 3.0

the result was:

/usr/src/linux/include/asm/spinlock.h:26:conflicting types for
spinlock_t

I'm baffled!

I'm running Mandrake 8.1 but with a generic 2.4.5 kernel installed.

Anyone have any clues?
