I've just tried with Linux 2.2.18+PCMCIA 3.1.23 and it behaves the same:

I'm pretty amazed... I've tried with two other identical cards from a
friend of mine who has plenty of them and uses them with Windoze, and they
behave the same. So the card is ok....
