We're calling it a "dumb" switch because there is no management features
on it at all--I have two of them: an 8-port switch and a 24-port switch.
Neither one allows us to "log in" to it in any shape fashion or form, nor
does it have any snmp monitoring ability--it's JUST a switch. But it
performs VERY well and was cheap. :)

On another note: I've been using 3c905 cards with the 3c59x driver
included with 2.2.14 for months with not options sent to it and no
problems for the past month with heavy traffic.
