Windows boots slower than Linux. For Linux, the network is usually needed
immediately after it's brought up (by /etc/rc.d/init.d/netfs or similar).
For Windows, you need first to log on (which takes time) and only then (if
the logon is succesful) you can have access to the network. But for me,
sometimes (out of the few times I do Windows) I log too quickly and
Network Neighbourhood shows nothing for some time...
