Hello,

I'm currently having a problem with my machine at work. it has a cyclone
3c905B card and i'm having the ff:ff:ff mac address problem - found how to
solve it (cold reboot) on the cesdis pages.

currently I am using the 0.99E driver and I have to coldboot each time
after I have to run NT. my card is detected as follows:

eth0: 3Com 3c905B Cyclone 100baseTx at 0x1000, 00:10:4b:45:6d:0d, IRQ 3
  8K byte-wide RAM 5:3 Rx:Tx split, autoselect/NWay Autonegotiation interface.
Enabling bus-master transmits and whole-frame receives.

I wanted to try the 0.99G driver. this one correctly detects the MAC
address of my card, but then I cannot use the network at all. ifconfig
doesnt complain, but the kernel just never receives any packet from the
network interface.

If I reboot again with the 0.99E driver, the network works again - thanks
to the 0.99G driver that has reinitialised it, I dont have to cold reboot
anymore.

Just hoped that this data point might be useful for you. I can run some
tests if neeed, just send me a private email (i'm not on the list)

thanks,
