This is the error message I got when trying to use the stock tulip
drivers with a newer card (a LinkSys LNE100TX Version 4.1) -- upgrade
to the latest driver from scyld:

http://www.scyld.com/network/updates.html
http://www.scyld.com/network/tulip.html

ftp://ftp.scyld.com/pub/network/netdriver-2.0-3.src.rpm

If this is not the case, give more information (card type, kernel
version, distribution version ... etc. etc.)

Hope this helps.
