2.2.5 kernel problem

  I had .90Q working great with 2.0.30 (still is, using it instead of 
2.2.5 for networking), but here's what's happeneing with 2.2.5.
 The tulip.c file compiles without a problem, then creates the tulip.o 
file. I've tried the method described on Greg Siekas's site, which I 
used on 2.0.30, but after running depmod -a I get an error 
"unresolved symbols in module <long path>". 
   Tried the instructions at:   
cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov/linux/drivers/tulip.html  
 and I get "kernel_version needed, but can't be found".
