The 6911A needs a reset sequence to start the MII transceiver.
There were a few versions in the 0.90* series that had a special hack to do
this, but it was removed because it caused problems for other cards.

The work-around is to do "insmod tulip; ifconfig eth0 up; rmmod tulip"
before activating the card for real.

I worked on this (among other issues) last night and the v0.90zzzz
(it's now up to v0.90zzzzz !) driver should correctly activate the 6911A.
Please complain again if v0.91 doesn't fix the problem.

I also have a new approach for the bogus MII transceiver detection problem.
It relies on the assumption that 100baseT4 transceivers will always have
extended capabilities, and will leave the reserved bits as '0'.
