From the Scyld Hardware Compatibility List, the AMD 760MP is listed as being supported, what about the 760MPX? This is important as I have seen reports of major improvements in speeds with the MPX or MP. -- Robin Laing Instrumentation Technologist Military Engineering Section Defence R&D Canada - Suffield P. The MPX motherboard should work, but we didn't have one at the start of the testing cycle for our previous release so it didn't make the list. In general, all motherboards should work. But there can be specific problems (e.g. the IDE controllers on a few recent P4 motherboards, unsupported SCSI RAID controllers) that we cannot predict unless we have run on the specific system. -- Donald Becker becker@scyld.com Scyld Computing Corporation http://www.scyld.com 410 Severn Ave. Suite 210 Scyld Beowulf cluster system Annapolis MD 21403 410-990-9993 From becker at scyld.com Fri Dec 6 08:56:03 2002 From: becker at scyld.com (Donald Becker) Date: Tue Nov 9 01:14:27 2010 Subject: [scyld-users] AMD - 760MPX support (fwd) Message-ID: -- Donald Becker becker@scyld.com Scyld Computing Corporation http://www.scyld.com 410 Severn Ave. Suite 210 Scyld Beowulf cluster system Annapolis MD 21403 410-990-9993 ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Fri, 06 Dec 2002 07:04:12 -0500 From: James D. I haven't got all the details figured out, but it is working. When I get back to it, there is one bug, as Donald mentioned: 1) It doesn't accept the fdisk (beofdisk) commands from the Main. (I turned the disks off to enable running.) jdm At 06:19 PM 12/5/2002 -0500, you wrote: >On Thu, 5 Dec 2002, Robin Laing wrote: > > > As I am new to cluster design and usage, I am in the process of > > specifing hardware for some new nodes running Scyld software. > > > > From the Scyld Hardware Compatibility List, the AMD 760MP is listed > > as being supported, what about the 760MPX? How do I compile the bproc and pvfs modules? There don't seem to be any source files to regenerate the modules. Bye, Aaron
