Hi,

Since I installed a Linux kernel 2.4.5, I have a problem at boot-up
with the driver of my Ethernet Card rtl-8138B.

Here the error-message :

8139too Fast Ethernet driver 0.9.17
PCI: Found IRQ 9 for device 00:10.0
PCI: The same IRQ used for device 00:07.2
eth0: RealTek RTL8139 Fast Ethernet at 0xc5804000, 00:48:54:6e:39:d3, IRQ 9
eth0: Identified 8139 chip type 'RTL-8139B'

eth0: media is unconnected, link down, or incompatible connection

I use a dhcp client to configure the network.
After boot-up, the connexion seems to be ok.
(I post this mail with this machine).

I would like to know if it is a known-bug of the driver or if it a
hardware-problem.
When I used an old kernel (2.2.18) I have no problem like that.

The Kernel Documentation say that this is a new version of the driver,
which is almost stable on x86.

My station is very standard : PC x86 with intel processor PIII 700MHz,
PCI Bus with AGP.
