Hi errors count

Hi,
I have used a RTL8139 based NIC for months with no problems.

I am connected to a NFS server via loong ethernet cable(UTP)
at 10Mbit.
I'm getting high errors count reported by 'ifconfig eth0'.

Could this be a 'noise in the cable' issue?

My 'ifconfig eth0' (uptime 1h 07min):
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:C0:DF:24:86:00
          inet addr:192.168.1.1 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:70963 errors:1309 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:98437 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:41563 txqueuelen:100
          Interrupt:5 Base address:0xb800

NFS server 'ifconfig eth0' (uptime 36 days):
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:10:5A:9A:EC:88
          inet addr:192.168.1.3 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1

          TX packets:16153201 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:416744 txqueuelen:100
          Interrupt:10 Base address:0xb800

Comments are welcome
