hi,

After experienceing odd network hangs, I checked my klog file to find
these messages, at about this time i was getting about a 20% packet loss
and ping time of 400 to 2000+ ms to my local router. The sgi next to me
was reciving a ping of 2ms to the same router with 0% packet loss at the
same time, normaly the ping time is only 1 to 2ms max.

The network driver report it's self as a
rtl8139.c:v1.07 5/6/99 Donald Becker
http://cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov/linux/drivers/rtl8139.html
eth0: RealTek RTL8139 Fast Ethernet at 0xe400, IRQ 19,
00:20:18:8b:14:e4.

I'm just moveing up to the laters version form the website, but thought
I should report this as there was no change log between 1.07 and 1.08a.

The network I'm on is not the best, it has a high load and is very near
the max length specs.

Please could you CC any post to me too as i'm not sucribed to this
group. Thanks

regards paul
