I have a system with 7 PCI cards, with 7 realtek 8139 cards in them.
Occasionally I get the above error at boot.

Also the system totally locks up after a couple of hours.

Other hardware is negligible: Celeron 433, Adaptec 1542, and 32Mb RAM.
Thats it.
Kernel version is 2.0.38. This is what we standardize upon.

On a side note, does anyone have advice on an alternative card? 3c905

or Intel EtherExpress, these are readily available here.
