Thou Shalt NOT run a UNIX machine without swap.  ever.  it's a VERY VERY
bad idea.  you get one runaway process and BOOM down you go...

Even just 32 meg or 64 meg of swap would be sufficient, I would think.

Also, considering that you're getting a 'no resources' error....
