<div> </div><div>July 21 - July 25, 2014 </div><div>The Savoia Hotel Regency </div><div>Bologna, Italy </div><div> </div><div>Submission Deadline (extended): March 25, 2014 </div><div> </div><div>Submissions could be for full papers, short papers, poster papers, or posters</div>
<div> </div><div> </div><div>SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES </div><div><br></div><div>Cloud is a common metaphor for an Internet accessible infrastructure, hiding most of the </div><div>implementation and deployment details of the system from users. Cloud computing delivers </div>
<div>IT-related capabilities as services over the Internet, allowing resources be managed and </div><div>accessed in an Internet scale. Cloud computing has been envisaged to be one of the main-</div><div>stream powering technologies of future IT systems. </div>
<div> </div><div>This symposium focuses on techniques, experiences, applications, and lessons learned for </div><div>interoperable services in the cloud, particularly in the realms of high performance </div><div>computing. For instance, HPC may be used for the construction of mathematical models </div>
<div>and numerical solutions and techniques for solving scientific, socio-scientific and engineering </div><div>problems. It often requires a huge number of computing and storage resources to perform </div><div>large-scale analyses and experiments. Users could get access to their own virtualized HPC </div>
<div>cluster in a self-service, dynamically scalable and fully configurable environment. Cloud </div><div>computing can address many of the aforementioned concerns. Such a computing paradigm </div><div>shift provides a flexible high performance computing environment. </div>
<div> </div><div>The symposium aims at providing a forum to bring together researchers and scientists to </div><div>share and exchange cloud computing related research, technologies, experiences, and </div><div>lessons for building various types clouds with interoperability and coordination capabilities in </div>
<div>a high performance and high availability setting. </div><div> </div><div>The InterCloud-HPC Symposium topics include (but are not limited </div><div>to) the following: </div><div><br></div><div>*<span class="" style="white-space:pre"> </span>Middleware Frameworks</div>

<div> </div><div>PAPER SUBMISSIONS </div><div><br></div><div>You are invited to submit original and unpublished research works on above and other </div><div>topics related to Cloud Computing and Services for High Performance Computing </div>
<div>Systems. Submitted papers must not have been published or simultaneously submitted </div><div>elsewhere. For Regular papers, please submit a PDF copy of your full manuscript, not to </div><div>exceed 8 double-column IEEE formatted pages, and include up to 6 keywords and an </div>
<div>abstract of no more than 400 words. Additional pages will be </div><div>charged additional fee. Submission should include a </div><div>cover page with authors' names, affiliation addresses, fax numbers, phone numbers, </div>
<div>and all authors email addresses. Please, indicate clearly the </div><div>corresponding author(s). Short papers (up to 4 pages), poster papers and poster (please </div><div>refer to <a href="http://hpcs2014.cisedu.info/home/posters">http://hpcs2014.cisedu.info/home/posters</a> for posters submission details) will also </div>
<div>be accepted. Please specify the type of submission you have. Please include page </div><div>numbers on all preliminary submissions to make it easier for reviewers to provide helpful </div><div>comments. </div><div>
</div><div>Submit a PDF copy of your full manuscript to the symposium paper submission site </div><div>at <a href="https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=intercloudhpc2014">https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=intercloudhpc2014</a> . Acknowledgement </div>
<div>will be sent within 24 hours of submission. </div><div> </div><div>Only PDF files will be accepted, sent by email to the symposium organizers. Each paper will </div><div>receive a minimum of three reviews. Papers will be selected based on their originality, </div>
<div>relevance, significance, technical clarity and presentation. Submission implies the </div><div>willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper, if accepted. At </div><div>least one of the authors of each accepted paper will have to register and attend the HPCS </div>
<div>2014 conference to present the paper at the symposium. </div><div> </div><div>Accepted papers will be published in the Conference proceedings. Instructions for final </div><div>manuscript format and requirements will be posted on the HPCS 2014 Conference web </div>
<div>site. It is our intent to have the proceedings formally published in hard and soft copies and </div><div>be available at the time of the conference. The proceedings is projected to be included in </div><div>the IEEE Digital Library and indexed in all major indexing services accordingly. </div>
