INTEL XEON vs AMD ATHLON

Hello Ivan,

Overclocking for the most part is pretty simple. Well
it goes from Bios settings all the way to soldering
and plyers.

 To get a good oc out of the system i mentioned I
would use PC2400 or PC2700 ram, instead of PC2100.
This way you will be able to get up to them max MHz,
and prevent damaging the ram.

 1. Your enemy is heat. Keep your system cool and you
will be good.

 Okay I mentioned the Thermalright AX-7 heatsink. (
currently rated # 1 for cooling in the heatsink field
)

 2. You can never be too cold. for instance, -256
celsius is fine (when your doing cooling at temps that
form ice, insulation is used to prefent water damage.)

increase bus MHz, increase multiplyer, various Bios
settings...

www.overclockers.com

bus x multiplyer = cpu MHz

100MHz bus X 5.5 multiplyer = 550MHz cpu

Honestly for a cluster I would use a ...

-AMD AthlonXP 1800+ (cheap, fast)
-have them unlocked to run dual
-Thermalright AX-7 + fan
(delta fan if you don't mind noise)
-non-overclock
(for maxium stability in your cluster)
-------------------------------------------
===========================================
-------------------------------------------

P.S. around december, hopefully sooner the Dual AMD
Sledgehammer will be coming out. [ 2.5GHz .09Mu ]
