I have a 3COM model 3c905C NIC in a brand new Dell PC. I have a =
“Cable/DSL” router from
LinkSys which connects to my cable modem. I cannot get the
NIC to talk to the router under Linux. I have set the NIC to auto-detect the media and =
duplex. I =

Tried various options to the driver with no luck. I obtained =
netdrivers-2.1.src.rpm. Built & installed it per =
the
instructions. Still, no luck. =
I am
at the end of my rope on this one.
I cannot access the net when running Linux. Yes, it works fine under =
WindowsMe,
The other OS on the machine. Are there any undocumented =
“tricks”
to get the 3com NIC and the router talking? When I =
run
‘/sbin/ifup eth0’ , dhcpcd ‘hangs’ for =
about 60 seconds and then reports
‘failed’. =
The link LED on
the router
is lit so I know the connection is ok ( also it works fine under =
windows
). =

You'll have to look at the printing on the card to find out.

It's a license violation.
Some of the existing QNX drivers, such as the 3Com driver, are in
violation of the license.
