I even tried + + which let all tested accounts access fred via "rsh -l fred" to the Solaris host and still didn't provide access to that account via "rsh -l fred" to the Mandrake hosts. The ownerships, protection, and method of mounting (NFS) are the same on Solaris and Mandrake. How about a positive control. Do any of you have access to a Mandrake 10.0 (or other similar linux release that obtains in.rshd from a package "rsh-server-0.17-13")? Does rsh -l work there?
