Yes, it is very fast and much cheaper than the Itanium. It is based on the Xeon family of processors. You can still use a EM64T processor in 32-bit mode. It uses the 64-bit extensions that AMD uses for the Opteron. The Itanium has a completely different instruction set. Craig
