Sorry, for bothereing again: In the /etc/beowulf/fstab file I have put in: 192.168.1.1:/home /home nfs defaults 1 2 with 192.168.1.1 the master node IP. /home is exported to all 192.168.1.0 machines. The mounting fails like ' setupfs : Doing mount: dev=none mntpt=/proc type=proc opts= setupfs : Already mounted - skipping. setupfs : Doing mount: dev=192.168.1.1:/home mntpt=/home type=nfs opts= setupfs : Performing modprobe: nfs setupfs : Sending: sunrpc /lib/modules/2.4.19-lanl.22smp/kernel/net/sunrpc/sunrpc.o setupfs : Installing sunrpc (92245 bytes) setupfs : Installing module "sunrpc" setupfs : Sending: lockd /lib/modules/2.4.19-lanl.22smp/kernel/fs/lockd/lockd.o setupfs : Installing lockd (69142 bytes) setupfs : Installing module "lockd" setupfs : Sending: nfs /lib/modules/2.4.19-lanl.22smp/kernel/fs/nfs/nfs.o setupfs : Installing nfs (97861 bytes) setupfs : Installing module "nfs" setupfs : NFS mount failed. nodeup : Plugin setupfs returned -1 (error) nodeup : Node setup returned status 1 in the log file. What's wrong? Lothar
