Back-UPS garbage? (was: Quick survey -- UPSs on slave nodes?)

The Back-UPS 650 works great for me.  Keeps an OTS PC and monitor up
for more than half an hour.

This is a silly question, but did you remember to plug the battery in??
If so, then just exchange them, as they are clearly defective.  Lots
of people use the Back-UPS line.
