If your target machines have to run Windows, and rebooting them into Linux is dangerous because of unsaved work, another possibility is to cross-compile your apps on Linux to Windows and then run in Windows using Condor or the like. You'll need to install Cygwin/Windows on the Windows boxes. This url describes the process of building the cross-compiler on Linux: http://www.wxwindows.org/technote/crosscmp.htm It might be nice to have a FAQ which explains the various options for "part time clustering", since this cross-compiling one is pretty obscure. greg
