I upgraded a headless node from 7.1 to 7.3 a few days ago.

Can you SSH to the box ?   If so, you can just use rpm to upgrade
whatever packages are installed to the 7.3 versions.

I did a "rpm -Fvh *{noarch,i386}.rpm" - then it complained about heaps
of packages that had various dependencies.

After either removing the old packages (if they were unneeded), or "rpm
-Uvh " the new packages that needed to be installed, I did the -Fvh
again.

After three or four -Fvh itereations, it stopped complaining and
upgraded all the remaining packages.

There's probably some easier way of doing this, a'la dist-upgrade on
Debian.  I just don't know what the easy way on RedHat is, and the above
still just took me about half an hour...

You could probably create a script after having upgraded the first node
- then you could run that script on the others.

This was not exactly what you asked for - I know - but I'm clueless
about RedHat installations over serial ports...

Don't forget to reboot the box after the upgrade  :)
