SRM. ARC is very obsolete; it's for NT.

No, but it's not much different from Intels. Read the Alpha-HOWTO,
SRM-HOWTO, etc. SRM supports network boot for supported video cards like
tulips. Even for disk-full nodes, it's the easiest way to initially install
'em.
