Yes, that's exactly how Phase I (400 nodes) and Phase II (600 nodes) were done. In Phase III (~ 1056 nodes), the scalable unit does not include a machine with a disk. So the kernel image is downloaded from the mother in each unit, but the root disk for all 1,024 nodes is served by the super-mother, which is just one machine. -- greg
